Voted the Best Wedding Venue (Gold) for 2019, 2018, & 2017 by Salem’s Oregon Statesman Journal
As this worldwide pandemic seems to be finally slowing down, many brides-to-be and their fiances are asking, “is it time to plan our wedding now?” It is a quandary facing many future brides and grooms whether or not to continue their plans for their big day.
Many weddings have been affected by the 2020 pandemic that the whole world has had to deal with in some way or another. There are many moving parts to your wedding planning, including the thought process about moving your wedding date, or not. Where do you go from here? Do you continue to plan for a time in 2020 still or move it a full year ahead?
No one has been in this situation so we do not know what to expect. One thought is if Starbucks and major chains are considering an open date then it must be getting better. But even the state and county fairs are canceling their events that have been going on for 100 plus years. There are many factors that can cause your head to spin when it comes to thinking about what’s best for your event, your wedding.
At this time, with the uncertainty for the summer, it seems more comfortable to postpone for as long as you can due to the unknown. But keep your hopes and wishes for your dream wedding because that is what will always be a fond memory– that you were able to still look toward an amazing wedding, your wedding.
Many weddings are changing their dates for later in the year or playing it safe for next year. Rest assured that this time of uncertainty is going to end and this will be a eventually be a good memory for all your guests. It’s time to start planning your wedding again….just play it safe, take in all of your options, whether that be to keep your 2020 date or move it to 2021. The medical world is saying that by the end of 2020 or the start of 2021 we will have our vacation from the coronavirus. In other words, we will have beaten this horrible illness that has taken lives and disrupted our plans for 2020.
Although this time has been full of unknowns, this has also given you a chance to make your plans bigger and more extraordinary, so your special day will be ever so memorable when your moment occurs.
COVID-19 has and will no doubt affect wedding planning, so be prepared for the coming months and year, and maintain an open conversation with all your vendors and guests as well.
Remember, your end goal is to enjoy the planning of this once in a lifetime event…your wedding. When that day comes and you say those magical words “I Do” it will mean more than ever. Yes, you did and our lives can move on from this pandemic that has hit the world in 2020.
Remember: Life is a celebration and this is one of those chapters to CELEBRATE.
